3 Curiosities of Dragon Ball
1. The series was initially based on the anonymous literary account Journey to the West. Which tells how the Buddhist monk Xuanzang (Bulma), during his pilgrimage to India, befriends the monkey god Sun Wukong (Son Gokū), the immortal pig Shu Bajie or Shu Wuneng (Oolong) and the demon of the sand river Sha Wujing (Yamcha). Akira Toriyama even thought to make Son Gokū with the appearance of a monkey and made several sketches, but I think he would be a character too closed and could not grow plot.
2. In the animation, an opaque light blue hue was used for Bulma's hair since in chapter 1 of the manga it had that color, however Toriyama used different colors, such as violet, teal or metallic blue. This tendency to experiment with colors, the author's own did not stop simply in Bulma's hair, also for the Son Gokū uniform, which was orange, deep red, coppery and old gold (similar to opaque bronze).
3. Goku began to wear his orange Kame Sennin uniform (in the animation it is sometimes red) in chapter 33 of volume 3 manga. To represent his martial style during his first Tenkaichi Budōkai.
